How NAZ Solar Electric Builds a Solar Kit
Anyone can put a shopping cart of parts on a page and call it a kit. What makes these different is who assembled the list and what happened before it went live.
Specified by engineers, not by a catalog. Our system design engineers spec every kit. They do this work all day for custom projects, and several of them run solar at home, so the component choices come from people who have wired these systems and lived with them.
Tested as a combination. Components that work individually don't always communicate correctly with each other. We test combinations in our demo room in Flagstaff, Arizona before they become a kit — and the demo room is open to customers who want to see the equipment in person.
Supported for the life of the system. Kit support doesn't end when the box ships. Our team of solar experts is available for commissioning questions, troubleshooting, and expansion planning for as long as you own the system.

Start With Your Loads, Not With Panels
The most common sizing mistake is starting from a panel count. Sizing works in the other direction: figure out how much energy your loads actually consume in a day, then work backward to the battery capacity, inverter output, and array size needed to cover it. Getting this order right is the difference between a system that carries your loads and one that runs short every evening.

Solar Kit Questions
What comes with a solar kit?
Contents vary by kit type and application — an off-grid kit and an energy storage kit are solving different problems and carry different components. Every kit product page lists its full component set, so check the specific kit you're considering rather than assuming a standard bill of materials.
Can I install a solar kit myself?
Many of our customers do. How far you can take it yourself depends on the system type and on your local requirements — grid-connected systems typically require a licensed electrician for the final utility connection, and permitting rules are set by your local authority having jurisdiction. Check your AHJ's requirements before you order equipment, not after.
Will a grid-tie solar kit power my house during an outage?
Not on its own. A standard grid-tie system is required to shut down when the utility goes down, so that it can't backfeed a line that a utility crew may be working on. If outage coverage matters to you, look at backup power kits, all-in-one inverter kits, or off-grid kits instead.
Can a kit be modified?
Yes. Kits are a starting point, not a fixed package. If you need a different panel, a larger battery bank, or a different mounting approach, our engineers can adjust the configuration and confirm the substituted components still work together.
Can I expand a kit later?
Often, but expansion is much easier when it's planned up front — inverter capacity and battery architecture set the ceiling. If you expect to grow the system, tell us during sizing so the initial configuration leaves you room.
